I sure do love this time of year... all the gatherings of friends and family is hard to beat. We've been real busy lately (and I've done a poor job documenting!) Here are the few photos I have of our recent weeks... Friendsgiving at the Shivley's, gingerbread house making at Scioto, and hosting our friends the night before Thanksgiving. Wish I had captured our Thanksgiving at the farm and my visit to Akron for Kat's baby shower. New Year's resolution to document more??!

With our gatherings comes lots of cocktail drinking, here is what we've been crafting...

Vieux Carré: 3/4 oz rye whiskey | 3/4 oz sweet vermouth | 3/4 oz cognac | 1 tsp bénédictine | 2 dashes peychaud's bitters | 2 dashes angostura bitters

Callie's Sage Sour: 4 sage leaves | 1/2 oz simple syrup (muddle with 3 of the sage leaves first; save 1 to garnish) | 1 oz bourbon (or gin) | 1 oz st germain | 1/2 oz lemon juice
