Chicago Welcomes A+S

Wow. I really can't get over how amazingly perfect this weekend was.

Friday: An evening in Logan Square is a must for out of towners. Dinner @ Longman & Eagle is hard to beat -- the beautiful cool summer night made for great patio dining. Following dinner we headed to Billy Sunday (the best cocktail bar). Sit at the bar and watch the drinks be made -- it is truly an art and worth the trip. Don't believe me? Just look at Steve's face in the photo at BS below.

Saturday: We ventured to Lincoln Park before the rain began, wandered the lily pools and the zoo. Brunch on the Carriage House porch followed -- open aired and covered, perfect for the rainy day! After errands and a movie at Webster Place it was already time for dinner. To Maude's Liquor Bar we went (another favorite) for oysters, smashes, and all other delicious things. Note: order the vegetable salad, I promise you will love it (this coming from a non-veggie lover). Our evening was spent at Book of Mormon, for A's birthday -- worth seeing. Quite funny.

Sunday: S's day, aka Father's Day! After a lengthy FaceTime with the Schaumburgs, we ventured to Glazed & Infused. Instead of eating in or bringing back to the apartment, we just had to get down to the water on this beautiful day. We headed to the old Fullerton Beach Bar and had a doughnut picnic. It was so wonderful. The rest of our day was spent wandering Astor (and everywhere else... literally), grabbing gelato at Paciugo, playing putt putt, and picking up Sprinkles for Cyd (& Doots). Father's Day dinner was spent at Au Cheval in the West Loop. Need I say more?! We met up with Meg & Nathan after at the Taste of Randolph, street fair, for Lord Huron. The very best... if you don't know them you're missing out. Home for the night and another day gone. Going to miss A+S very much :(
