Weekend Trip to MI

This weekend was spent in our favorite place... Saugatuck :) We had such a cozy and loving weekend, it was ridiculously fun. Weather man couldn't have been more wrong -- we had no rain and beautiful sunny weather! Already wanting to go back!

Friday: Walk along the water upon arrival, followed by Coral Gables for some live music on the deck at the "tiki hut," Marro's for dinner, then The Sand Bar for some pool.

Saturday: Our morning began with a golf round with my new clubs (thank you Nanny & Da, I LOVE them!!!), a scotch + water with/for Susie when we finished, followed by a stop at The Summertime Market (a place I've always wanted to go and we've never stopped...HUGE mistake not going until now). The afternoon was spent at Fenn Valley Vineyard for Wine Fest, their annual tradition which is amazing! We had freedom to roam all over the vineyard, wandering from tasting booth to tasting booth. Once we had decided on a favorite, we enjoyed a bottle in the shade of the trees and listened to the live band. We couldn't leave the area without making a quick stop at Crane's for some fresh cherry pie. Before we knew it, it was time for dinner -- some pool & Phil's was the perfect way to end our day.

Sunday: Our morning began with golf... again (and a not-so-good round, but great snacks -- cider donuts from Crane's). After laughing off our terrible game, we stopped by The Summertime Market to pack a picnic for the beach -- meat + cheese made for a great afternoon treat. We had a fun afternoon on the windy beach, soaking up some much needed sun. On our way back we swung by another place we've always seen, but never stopped in -- The Red Dock. Oh, yet ANOTHER mistake, this place is great! We enjoyed some ice cold beers here before wandering the nature preserve, grabbing sorbet for our last walk on the water, and taking off to head back home. Another wonderful weekend :)
