Michigan Getaway

E and I spent the weekend cozied up in Saugatuck. The weekend consisted of dinner at Salt of the Earth, a rustic American eatery and bakery in Fennville. We'd heard about this place from many people and finally got the chance to go -- cannot believe we waited so long... it was really great! Saturday we grabbed coffee and headed north to Holland to see 'Big Red'. It was quite the hike, but well worth it -- it was beautiful and we were the only ones around to soak it all in. Afterwards we headed to brunch at another spot that's been on our list forever - Everyday People Cafe in Douglas. We may have to come back and try dinner (we weren't blown away with brunch) -- but we sure did enjoy the build your own bloody bar and bottomless bubbles! We rounded out the day with bowling, pool at Sand Bar Saloon, and dinner at Phil's.

This place is our favorite (if you didn't know already) and with every trip we make, we always try to find new things to do. Because finding all the best things to do takes lots of research and lots of time spent exploring, I thought I'd make it easy for anyone venturing to this part of Michigan. Behold! My Guide to Saugatuck, MI and surrounding areas. Enjoy!
