Having a beautiful kitchen to cook in is an amazing addition to our life (thanks to A+S). Thursday I whipped up dinner for us and the Schaumburgs and it was delish. My absolute favorite salad ever is a shaved raw vegetable salad from Au Cheval or Maude's in Chicago (I don't love vegetables, but this is insanely good). I just had to figure out how to make it… Luckily, I surfed the web and found another fan who had already closely matched the recipe. Yum. I also made some pizzas: bacon, gruyere, caramelized onion, dates (I usually use fig, but they were out) & bbq chicken, gouda, red onion & pesto, prosciutto, arugula, lemon. A wonderful feast for a week night.
